VoiceAnalyticaBot, our website scanner
If you found VoiceAnalyticaBot/1.0 in your website's visitor log, this page explains who we are and what it was doing.
Who it is
Voice Analytica helps businesses write and send their marketing. When someone signs up and gives us their website address, VoiceAnalyticaBot visits that website once to learn the business's logo, colours, fonts, the way it writes, who it speaks to and the style of its pictures. We call the result a Brand DNA. It lets everything we write for that business sound like them.
It only ever visits a website because the owner (or someone working for the owner) asked us to. It does not crawl the web, and it does not build a search index.
How it introduces itself
Every request from the scanner carries this name, so you can find it, allow it or block it:
VoiceAnalyticaBot/1.0 (+https://voiceanalytica.com/bot) It never pretends to be a person's web browser.
What it does
- Reads your home page, then up to three more pages such as About, at most four in all.
- Asks for your
robots.txtfile first. For every page beyond the home page it follows the rules written forVoiceAnalyticaBot, or for*if there are none for us. - Pauses between requests, and caps the size of every page and of the whole visit.
- Copies your logo and a handful of your pictures so the customer can use them. It stores its own copies and does not link to yours.
- Takes the words it reads, removes email addresses, phone numbers and links, and passes them to an AI model to describe the brand. The words on a page are treated as information, never as instructions.
What it never does
- It never tries to get past a block. If your site answers with "forbidden", "unauthorised", "too many requests", a "checking your browser" page or a page that needs scripts to show anything, it stops. It tries the home page up to three times in all, a short while apart, and then gives up.
- It does not disguise itself, use a hidden browser, rotate addresses or solve challenges.
- It does not log in, fill in forms, or read anything behind a sign-in.
- It does not read your visitors' details, and it does not keep the page it read once the Brand DNA is made.
If you would like it to stay away
There is nothing more you need to do beyond what you already do for any scanner: your site's own protection can turn it away, and we respect that. To keep it off every page except the home page, add this to your robots.txt:
User-agent: VoiceAnalyticaBot
Disallow: / If you would like it to stop visiting even the home page, tell the customer who asked for the scan, or write to us at [email protected] with your website address and we will make sure it is not scanned.
If you would like it to be let in
Many sites, especially those behind Cloudflare or a similar firewall, turn automated visitors away by default. If a customer of ours asked you to let us in, allow the scanner by its name VoiceAnalyticaBot/1.0. In Cloudflare that is under Security, then WAF, then Tools. If your firewall needs an address as well, write to us at [email protected] and we will tell you what to use.
The customer can also choose not to let us in at all. They can send us a single page from their own browser, or paste the words about their business, and we never visit the site.
